DAY 193 - Do You Know How to Conduct Yourself in God's Family

Please click this NEW LINK to pray for us(March 9, 2010 to June 16)!!!

Today’s Reading: 1 Timothy 3

Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to encourage Christians to have daily devotion - a wonderful and intimate time with Jesus. There are three reasons for you to use this blog as your daily devotion:
1. A healthy spiritual diet - One chapter of the Bible daily. We really need at least one chapter of Bible daily so that we are well fed.

2. A good example of Spiritual Journaling - What I have committed for 1,189 days(the Bible has 1,189 chapters)to write this daily post is not for teaching purposes but this is my daily spiritual journal - I write down what I hear from Jesus and how I experience His intimate relationship with me each day.

I have launched a wide-spectrum research on daily devotion and have found out that there are less than 10% of Christians that are having daily devotion. Out of that 10%, many having daily devotion are doing so because of guilt (they know that they are Christians and need to have daily devotion and feel guilty if they don’t do that), duty (they need to fulfill their duty as a Christian) or study(lots of Christians primarily use their daily devotion as a time to study the Bible). I do pray and hope that you will make up your mind to have a relational daily devotion so that you can have an intimate time with Jesus. I pray that you will write your own spiritual journal as well.

3. An online discipler – One of the reasons that so many Christians do not have daily devotion is because they do not have a disciple. A discipler can help them build up this basic element of discipleship when they first become Christians. The best way for you is to have a discipler to walk with you for a certain period of time so that daily devotion become a good habit. Or, you may have a small group of two to three people to encourage and be accountable to each other so that you won’t stop your daily devotion. I offer myself as your online disciple to walk with you daily to enrich your spiritual journey. So, shall we start this journey with Jesus Christ our Lord now!

Please read 1 Timothy 3: 1 – 16 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from this blog. You may click this link directly for the method: Subject Shifting Devotion.pdf . (You may begin with a song to praise the Lord and complete you devotion by singing another praise song.)

Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. 1 Timothy 3: 14-15

What I received from Jesus today is one very simple question: Do you know how to conduct yourself in God's family?

There are clear instructions of how to be a bishop (overseer) and I hope that I can follow those instructions to become a good bishop. And I do hope and pray that you will pray for me to be a good bishop. The instructions for bishops and deacons are good check points for all of us to follow.

If we have more Christians follow these instructions on how to conduct themselves in God's family, I think that we would have far less problems in our church. We are in the church of the living God and we need to live out living lifestyles too!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for choosing, anointing and consecrating me to be a bishop. Please help me to be able to follow your instructions to be a good bishop. And help all of us to know how to conduct ourselves to love your family. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live. 1 Timothy 2: 1-3

I wonder how many Christians really know and practice prayers as the first thing to do?

I wonder how many churches and Christians have been praying for their rulers and their governments to rule well?

I don't think many!

Will you follow Paul's instruction to make the first thing first please?

It is easy to say that we pray but it is so difficult to be a man/woman of prayers. There are many people reading this blog daily and I do hope that you can pray for me, my family and all ACiC/AI churches, priests, pastors and leaders. Please put down your name today in the link on the top of this page. Do you believe that praying like that for 300 days, 24 hours a day will make a difference? I can surely tell you: YES!

YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE! PLEASE HELP TO PRAY!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Teach me to pray like never before. Oh Lord, move more people's hearts to join our 3rd phase of 300 days/24 hours Prayer Campaign. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Timothy, my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight, holding on to faith and a good conscience. Some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith. 1 Timothy 1:18-19

Jesus reminded me how my spiritual fathers gave me good examples and instructions to fight a good that I might have shipwrecked, made a thorough mess of my faith. We need to be very careful not to reject those instructions which come from God's servants. If Hymenaeus and Alexander could make a thorough mess because of rejecting Paul's instructions, who are we to escape this downfall if we do not cherish those instructions so that we can fight a good fight for Jesus?

Watch out for the Spirit of Rejection! Let love, appreciation and acceptance fill your heart and soul!

Dear Lord Jesus,
I give thanks to you for giving me quite a number of spiritual fathers and mentors in my life. Help me to cherish their good examples and to follow all those instructions that come from you so that I can be able to fight a good fight for you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

One more thing, friends: Pray for us. Pray that the Master's Word will simply take off and race through the country to a ground-swell of response, just as it did among you. And pray that we'll be rescued from these scoundrels who are trying to do us in. 2 Thessalonians 3: 1-2

Today is the 190th day that we have been prayed for 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. You may not know how blessed we have been in the past 190 days. It is just beyond words can explain. Without your prayers, I think that things would be very different!

Paul in this chapter states very clear that we, as God's servants, always receive many kinds of attacks - outside and inside. Paul was speaking about the attacks by Christians inside their circle!

I do hope and pray that today you will write down your name on at least one slot of our prayer list found on the top of this page. I beg you, pray for us please!!!

Dear Lord Jesus,
When our dear brothers and sisters read this line, please move their hearts to write down their names in our new list of 3rd phase 300 days/24 hours a day prayer campaign. Help them to learn and know that you will smile on them when they pray like that. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word. 2 Thessalonians 2: 15-17

Today I received a wonderful encouragement from Jesus, "You'll be fine, son!"

But, I need to say to Him one word first, "Yes, Sir!"

Michelle and I went to the Pentagon (just outside) and the Arlington Cemetery today. We saw so many high rank Navy, Army and Airforce officers everywhere. They all looked so magnificent in their uniform by appearance. I know that is part of their training. I know that all of them have been trained well to say, "Yes Sir!" When we saw thousands of graveyards in Arlington Cemetery, I was so moved to know that by saying "Yes Sir", most of them laid down their lives for America, their country.

According to Paul in this chapter, the coming of the lawless one, the Antichrist, deceives people to be away from the Truth. The Deceiver will deceive people to not being able to say, "Yes Sir!" to Jesus but to say, "Yes Sir!" to the world and to his deceiving plan. God will let it happen when the time comes!

What should we do? We must be willing to be trained and discipled by Jesus and His servants so that we can be able to say "Yes Sir" to Him and so that we can be strengthened and encouraged.

Are you ready to say, "Yes Sir!" to Jesus now? I invite you to pray now, asking our Lord Jesus Christ to help you to do so.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Strengthen me daily so that I can be able to take my cross to follow you. Help me to say "Yes Sir" to you every time that you give your command. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

This trouble is a clear sign that God has decided to make you fit for the kingdom. You're suffering now, but justice is on the way. When the Master Jesus appears out of heaven in a blaze of fire with his strong angels, he'll even up the score by settling accounts with those who gave you such a bad time. His coming will be the break we've been waiting for. Those who refuse to know God and refuse to obey the Message will pay for what they've done. 2 Thessalonians 1: 5-8

Jesus gave me lots of comfort today by telling me two things:
1. The troubles we have are clear signs to make us fit for the Kingdom.
2. Don't need to deal with people who give us a bad time. Always live out faith, hope and love. He will deal with those who give us a bad time.

Our lives will be full of peace and joy if we really believe this! You need to believe this!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to love, especial to love those people who give me a bad time! Make me fit for your Kingdom. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

DAY 187 - How Ready Are You?

Please click this NEW LINK to pray for us(March 9, 2010 to June 16)!!!

Today’s Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5

Please read 1 Thessalonians 5: 1 – 28 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from this blog. You may click this link directly for the method: Subject Shifting Devotion.pdf . (You may begin with a song to praise the Lord and complete you devotion by singing another praise song.)

Please click the links below to 1 Thessalonians 5:

I don't think, friends, that I need to deal with the question of when all this is going to happen. You know as well as I that the day of the Master's coming can't be posted on our calendars. He won't call ahead and make an appointment any more than a burglar would. About the time everybody's walking around complacently, congratulating each other—"We've sure got it made! Now we can take it easy!"—suddenly everything will fall apart. It's going to come as suddenly and inescapably as birth pangs to a pregnant woman. 1 Thessalonians 5: 1-4

Jesus reminds me today, "How ready are you?" There had been many times when I was thinking, "I have sure got it made! Now I can take it easy!" Then, boom! Everything turned upside down! Am I ready any time when things don't come into my way or even like the end of the world? Are you ready? How ready are you?

Jesus told me to go to read this chapter again and check every item like a check list in a car shop. Am I awake or sleeping? Do I respect God's servants? Do I...

Dear Lord Jesus,
Keep me awake daily and help me to be ready any time. Come, Holy Spirit, come! In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
